9 Most Exotic National Parks in Thailand

National Parks in Thailand not only protect their region's natural resources, including endangered species, but they also created a relaxed educational facilities for visitors. Statistics reveal that there are 114 National Parks, 24 National Marine Park and other protected sectors in Thailand.


Based on these facts, 13% of Thailand is now a safe habitat where endangered species are protected from encroachment and poaching. Somewhat surprising when you consider that the first captive animals here was founded less than five decades ago. Reasonable percentage if you compare it to the United States, which has only about 10%.

Not only ecosystems here to protect natural resources in the region, it helps to make a calm educational facilities for visitors. If you have time, you should at least take a tour to one of the following holiday park. Try must be one not far from where you stay. Here the following park I mean.

1. Khao Yai

Khao Yai is Thailand's oldest park. It includes a mix of broad leaf evergreen forests and deciduous forests with grassland and scrub. A variety of wildlife including many species roam endangered such as elephants, tigers, leopards, white hand gibbon and sambar.

2. Doi Inthanon

Doi Inthanon includes the highest mountain in Thailand. The park has several species of fauna and flora with waterfalls and a variety of animals such as leopard, pangolin and squirrels fly. Watching bird is also popular as the area has many species of birds such as eagles, hawks Woodcock and Eurasian.

3. Chamao Khao

Chamao Khao and Khao Wong is the name of two mountains that appear above in the lowland farmland around the eastern seaboard of Thailand on route to Cambodia. Consists of spectacular tropical evergreen forests, waterfalls valley and caves. It is also a paradise where tigers, elephants and Asian black bears can roam free.

4. Khao Sam Roi Yot

Khao Sam Roi Yot is a small beach park is located at the narrowest part of the Thailand peninsula overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. This is in contrast to the vast area of ​​sea, sand, freshwater wetlands supported by pinakel amazing and limestone caves. Interior forest park is home from animals such as rare dusty langur, lizards and monkeys crab, while wetlands provide shelter for millions of migratory birds from Siberia.

5. Kao Sok

Khao Sok and nearby areas retain a great overview of the biggest rivers and virgin rainforest in south Thailand. Surrounding peaks rise to spectacular heights while the sheer size of the forest to help protect large populations of elephants, bison, some kind of jungle cats, wild dogs and many other rare animals and almost  200 species of birds. The park is also home to the largest flower in the world.

6. Khao Lak

Khao Lak contains some stunning scenery objects, long sandy beaches along the Andaman coast golden top. The area here is most famous for the stunning scenery of steep mountain rain forest that extends to the winding coast. You can relax on the beach, take a trip with the elephant to one of the many waterfalls park or dive among the coral reefs in the nearby Similan Islands.

7. Khao Phra Taew

Khao Phra taew located just 4 km or two and a half miles east fro the Thalang city in Phuket in south Thailand. This is the last post and the main island of primary rainforest green. In this park there are two very beautiful waterfall. Ton Sai waterfall to the west of the park is the prettiest and near from Bang Pae waterfall to the east is the Gibbon Rehabilitation Center.

8. Ang Thong

Ang Thong consists of 42 group from the small islands scattered in the western of the blue Gulf  in Thailand island of Ko Samui. This area was cames a haven for pirates but now most of the visitors are tourists who come here for sightseeing and relaxing on the soft white sandy beaches or to explore the limestone caves and abundant wildlife in lush rainforest. Canoe around the beach and snorkel among the colorful coral reefs are also a major attraction.

9. Ko Tarutao

Ko Tarutao spread in 51 islands near the Malaysian island of Langkawi in the Andaman Sea. This area is home to a mixed population of Thailand  and sea gypsies but tourists come here to experience the incredible diving, regarded as one of the best in the world. Although there are concentrations of species of tropical fish, offshore sightings and minke whales and dugongs and dolphins are also a common sight here.
